I know a lot of women don't understand their chocolate cravings. I always thought it was something that happened for a couple of weeks out of the month. But I always questioned why this was happening and was there anything I could do to fix it. I have hated the feeling of having to have chocolate in the large amounts that I've consumed it.
About a year ago, I decided to look around on the internet to find a solution to this problem. Here is what I found....
Plain and simple... Take magnesium! Don't take more than your daily dose. Check out your multivitamin and see how much magnesium is in it. (I checked out my otc prenatal vitamin and it had zip) Google "How much magnesium should a woman take" and then take that amount of magnesium or better yet, ask your doctor. Supplementing too much magnesium could lead to kidney problems and/or diarrhea, so make sure you are taking the correct dose. Check to make sure you are getting enough calcium and potassium, because from what I read, they all go hand in hand.
So, next time something is going on with your body that you don't understand, don't just shrug it off and say "Well this is just the way my body is." instead say " I am going to figure this out so I can be healthy and happy!"

Ooohh, this is interesting. Off to google!
Interesting. I must be REALLY deficient in magnesium because I eat ridiculous amounts of chocolate!
